Terminati gli studi presso il liceo artistico Caravaggio a Milano,Fabio vuole unire quanto appreso nel disegno,nella scultura e nell'architettura a quella diventerà la sua vera passione: l' oreficeria. L' ispirazione per quello che sarà il suo stile,affonda le radici nelle principali correnti artistiche e a tutti i suoi grandi maestri; Fabio vuole unire forme e disegni che ricordano quelle epoche passate,al moderno e fantascientifico, arrivando quindi ad un concetto unico ed originale che renderà immediatamente riconoscibili le sue opere. Inizia giovanissimo ad avvicinarsi all'arte orafa ma, questa energia creativa, ben presto si scontra inevitabilmente con i limiti di una formazione da autodidatta rallentandolo nella sua creatività. Nel 2002 la svolta; gli viene concesso di affiancarsi al maestro orafo Gaetano D'Amato, il quale gli permette di lavorare al suo fianco nel suo storico laboratorio a Milano. Osservando per ore il maestro all'opera e collaborando alla realizzazione di alcuni dei suoi gioielli, finalmente viene a conoscenza di tecniche e trucchi del mestiere fino ad ora a lui sconosciute sulla gioielleria classica ,essenziali per potere continuare il suo percorso artistico. Trascorso del tempo presso il maestro, decide di mettersi in gioco aprendo un laboratorio tutto suo dove dare vita al suo "concetto " di gioiello. Fabio Mezzetti inaugura nel 2006, nel cuore della vecchia Milano, in un quartiere a due passi dal Naviglio suggestivo e ricco di storia, il suo Laboratorio- Atelier, dove oggi si possono ammirare le sue creazioni, avvolti da un' atmosfera creata tra luci soffuse ,strani macchinari e strumenti di lavoro essenziali per la lavorazione dei metalli. Una volta varcata la soglia, avrete la sensazione di essere portati indietro nel tempo, in un' altra epoca.
He finishes his course of studies at the Caravaggio Art high school in Milan and soon he realizes that he wants to put everything he has learnt into his work. His knowledge of sculpture architecture drawing aims in one direction only jewlery making. He gets his inspiration from the main artistic groups of the past and of course from the great masters who supported them. Fabio's style takes its inspiration from the past but then through his imagination he is able to create super modern jewels for their innovative shapes they can be recognized as unique. As unique is his work. He starts very young to approach the Art of making jewels but soon he realizes that his creative energy is not enough he needs guidance. In 2002 a breakthrough he meets Gaetano D Amato a master in the jewlery art that teaches him all the tricks of the trade. He observes helps and masters the techniques which will be useful in his future work. After sometime under the wing of the Master Fabio is ready to open his own workshop where he finally puts into practice his own concept of jewlery making. He opens his atelier in the heart of Milan near the Naviglio in 2006 there you can both admire his creations and have a peep at the tools the machinery to work metals in an atmosphere that will take you back in the past.
